I have to admit it. Avon and mark. keep upping their game in terms of their makeup releases. This is not the makeup your mom bought from the Avon lady. Not even close. I’ve been trying out some of the releases by mark. over the past little bit (along with the Havana Sol collection which is coming soon!) and have found a few new favourites.
Let’s dive right into some of the latest offerings from mark. by Avon!
mark. Dusk Till Dawn Waterproof Eyeliners in Daybreak and Blackout ($10 USD/CDN) – These waterproof kohl eyeliners do not mess around when it comes to pigmentation. Just look at the swatches below! The black eyeliner reminds me a lot of another Avon eyeliner that I used to be obsessed with until it was discontinued. Super creamy and blendable but able to stay in place once it sets.
mark. All Butter Now Lip Treat in Bare All ($11 USD/$14 CDN) – Now while the eyeliners had a ton of pigmentation, this lip product doesn’t. But I love it all the same. This gives the loveliest nude wash over the lips all while leaving a perfectly glossy, but not sticky, finish. This has made its way into my work bag so I know I have a simple lip product all the time for mid day touch-up without the risk of clashing with my makeup. Relatively hydrating and it feels very nice on the lips.
mark. Cheek Magnet Hook Up Powder Blush in Mauve Forward ($18 USD/CDN) – Okay while I’ve really enjoyed the previous two products. This one I LOVE! It actually made it into my May Favourites (see I have been trying these out for a while). Perfectly pigmented but easily blendable. Such a lovely mauve/deep rose shade of blush that goes with a lot of different makeup looks. Will be fantastic in the fall as well! The hook up nature of this blush is fun too because you can connect it with the Eye Contact and/or the Glow Together Bronzing Powder.
mark. Eye Contact Hook Up Eyeshadow Palette in Smoke & Mirrors ($18 USD/CDN) – Lastly is this 9 eyeshadow compact. Now I have to admit that this is my least favourite of the products I’ve tried out. A couple of the shades (left shade in both 1st and 3rd rows) are fantastic! Super pigmented, easy to use, and stunning too. But some of the other shades (the middle row especially) lose a lot of their pigmentation when applying to the eye and can blend out to nothingness or look muddy. I do find that some of the shades are better applied when you use your fingers rather than a shadow brush. I also don’t love that there’s not a matte brown shade in here as it would make the compact that much better for travel.
Have you tried out any products from mark. recently? Which have been your favourites?
til next time…
